The Brabanter
The Brabanter is a fictional magazine that draws inspiration from the iconic cover pages of The New Yorker. While the magazine itself is entirely fictional, the cover pages are very real and inspired by the unique traits of the Noord-Brabant province.
They feature new artists every two weeks, showcasing the artwork digitally and selling it in the form of posters.
For the 17th edition, I created a design as an ode to the makers who give color to the Spoorzones in Brabant.

“The Brabantse Spoorzones (railroad zones) are buzzing with culture and creativity. Passionate makers and thinkers work with which the area is provided with color. From Het Havenkwartier to Strijp-S and from De Spoorzone to De Tramkade. Here, synergy buzzes through the industrial streets. However, reviving the area and giving value to the land creates an entanglement: how much space is left for the creators? Or will they soon take the train to the Randstad in search of a new area?”
